The conference aims to address key issues related to India’s progress and development through various discussions, key notes, and presentations. It features sessions on technology, policy, and entrepreneurship, encouraging collaboration and innovation. By leveraging the expertise and networks of IIT Madras alumni, the conference seeks to contribute to the broader goal of advancing India’s growth and addressing challenges facing the country.

Are you a startup diligently building towards a better tomorrow? This pitch-fest event is for you. Put together your pitch deck and explain why your product/enterprise is worth investing in. We’ve assembled a room full of tech, deep-tech, and hard-tech investors. Selected startups get to meet them and pitch in person on 13-Sep at the gorgeous T-Hub in Hyderabad.
For this event, we are looking at startups working in these sectors: AI, deep tech, hardware, EV, health, sustainability, climate, agri, and space. A jury of investors will review applications and select the top 10 most ready for investment. If your products and services align with the Viksit Bharat mission, do not miss this opportunity. In addition to the funding opportunity, you will receive optional mentoring for the final presentation and networking opportunities.
This year, Sangam revolves around the theme ‘Building for Viksit Bharat,’ reflecting our collective commitment to contributing meaningfully to society and supporting IIT Madras in its journey towards excellence. It’s a call to action, an opportunity to engage with fellow alumni and industry leaders on pivotal topics ranging from sustainability to AI.
A proud alumna of IIT-M (M.Sc.Chemistry), Dr. Malati Raghunath has worked for nearly two decades in the chemical industry and briefly taught at academic institutions. Malati is a science consultant in the areas of Green chemistry and material science, specifically catering to industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and renewables. Currently, she is enjoying her stint as a Guest faculty at IIT-M teaching courses like Happiness, Habits and Success. She is passionate about science education, especially its pedagogy enabling a STEM spark in young minds. She serves as an advisor in content creation of Chudar, a non-profit in the Tamil Nadu school education space and PALS, an IIT-M outreach initiative for rural engineering colleges. When not in the science mode, Malati teaches spoken Sanskrit to children via Samskrita Bharati Balakendram. She is an ardent carnatic music aficionado, a trained vocalist and a kutcheri hopper.
Pavithra's dedication to Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and Vedanta is her lifelong tapasya. Over three decades, she has created thematic solo productions inspired by ancient Hindu scriptures, performing across three continents. Trained by eminent gurus like The Dhananjayans and Swami Dayananda Saraswati, she teaches Natya, Nattuvangam, and Vedic Heritage at her school, Arsha Kala Bharati in Chennai. A committed Carnatic vocalist, she continues training under Vidwan P. Vasanth Kumar. Her Gita Natyam, blends the Bhagavad Gita with Bharatanatyam.
Shyamala Rajaram, Batch of '95, is an alumnus of IIT Madras from the Civil Engineering department, and was a resident of Sarayu Hostel. She is currently the CEO of Unimity Solutions, a company delivering solutions to global customers, and also serves as the President of the IIT Madras Alumni Association, playing an active role in uniting a community of over 50,000 alumni.
Shyamala is passionate about nurturing young talent and creating environments that foster both career and personal growth. She has served on the International Board of one of the largest open-source communities, Drupal, and is a founding member of the Drupal India Association, where she has been instrumental in advancing opportunities for the open-source industry in India. Her contributions have been recognized by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, where she was named one of the top 75 Women in STEAM.
In addition to her professional achievements, Shyamala is a board member of Aarti for Girls, a nonprofit organization based in Kadapa that empowers women through shelter, education, and livelihood programs. She adeptly balances her many roles, both personal and professional, as a daughter, wife, sister, mother, friend, colleague, and mentor. Shyamala is also a believer in Hindu culture and traditions, which influence her approach to life.
